Marie-C, thank you again for such a lovely experience during our May 2018 visit. Donna and I hope we did not keep you up too late! Your hospitality and kindness was simply the best. We love your energy and excitement of your home and food. We can imagine the household many years ago with so many children and activities constantly. Things have changed now in your lives and we think this is a nice venture for you. We wish you and Roland continued success and good health for many years to come. This was a great way to spend our final night in Bordeaux and I thank you for the extra glass of Merlot as it was the perfect wine selection for the evening. So today we take the train to Paris and visit some old friends, but last night we will cherish in our memories. We are foodies and travel via our stomachs. We were thrilled to have a cooking lesson from Marie in bourdelais style cooking. We made a couple foie gras appetizers, duck breast and potatoes for the main course and baked traditional pastries and prepared lovely strawberries in wine. We loved seeing a French household and meeting such lovely people. Some of the recipes were regional, some were Marie’s and some her mother’s recipes. We enjoy regional and seasonal cuisine and wish we could return every month to see what is on the menu.
